Colloquium Recap: Inspiring Exchange at Université Sorbonne Nouvelle

The recent Langscape & ENROPE Online Colloquium #11 (June 23, 2025) was well-received and appreciated by the participants.

José Aguilar (Université Sorbonne Nouvelle ) opened the event by introducing Langscape & ENRROPE and providing an overview of the network’s main activities. Marta Maria Röder briefly announced the next online colloquium, which will take place at Siegen University (for more details click here).

The introduction was followed by two inspiring plenary talks: Dr. Brahim Azaoui from Montpellier University presented “Unifying Multimodality and Languages: A Pantosemiotic Approach to Plurilingualism”, and Moisés Velasquez from Sorbonne Nouvelle University spoke on “Kibiri: An Account of Multilingualism, Language Ideology, and Language Shift in Papua New Guinea.”.

Following the talks, a smaller group continued the discussion within the Special Interest Groups (SIG) session.

Many thanks to everyone who participated in the colloquium.
