Diltec and Sorbonne Nouvelle University, in partnership with the European Observatory of Multilingualism, API Education Forum, and the UFR LLD – Les nouvelles rencontres de la Sorbonne Nouvelle (Sorbonne Nouvelle New Encounters), are pleased to announce the international conference “Multilingualism and Language Education: An Invisible Pillar of Democracy?”, to be held from May 12 to 14, 2027, at Sorbonne Nouvelle University.
Current democracies are facing political and social crises fueled by discriminatory and xenophobic ideologies that call into question the legitimacy of diversity and the recognition of the other. In this context of increasing nationalism, this conference proposes to examine, from a critical perspective and in light of recent world events, the role of multilingualism and language education in the construction and preservation of democratic systems.
You will find the call for papers on the conference website: https://plurilingdemo.sciencesconf.org/?lang=fr
as well as in the attachments ( Arabic, French and Spanish versions of the CfP are available in the conference page).
